China Southern Launches Direct Flight from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Dushanbe
(June 16, 2025) On the morning of June 16, China Southern Airlines held an inaugural ceremony for its Beijing Daxing- Dushanbe flight at Beijing Daxing International Airport. This marks the launch of the first direct flight by a Chinese airline between the capitals of China and Tajikistan. During the ceremony, Qu Guangji, Executive Vice President of China Southern Air Holding Company, stated that this new route would provide a more convenient air bridge between the two nations, enhance bilateral trade, cultural exchanges, and tourism cooperation, and inject fresh momentum into the development of bilateral relations and regional connectivity.
China Southern Airlines operated the inaugural flight using a Boeing 787, and future flights will be conducted with Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The route will feature two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The outbound flight CZ6051 will take off from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 17:00 (local time, same below) and arrive at Dushanbe International Airport at 21:00, with a flight duration of approximately seven hours. Before the flight, China Southern Airlines established multiple check-in counters at Beijing Daxing International Airport and added guidance personnel, displays, and signage to assist passengers. It also increased Russian-speaking staff at the counters to provide timely support for document verification, check-in, and baggage handling. Special attention was given to elderly passengers and children, with reserved seating for those traveling with children and comprehensive assistance throughout the boarding process. The multilingual AI screen put into use recently at the international check-in counter (C36) integrates real-time visual translation and intelligent consultation services. Capable of real-time translation between 14 languages, this screen aims to provide smart guidance for check-in procedures.
To ensure a successful inaugural flight, China Southern Airlines selected a dual-captain flight crew for this journey, providing robust support for safety and smooth operations. The cabin crew adorned the cabin with traditional Chinese elements, such as embroidered pieces and "Double Magpies Bringing Joy" lanterns, creating a celebratory atmosphere. Passengers were treated to a carefully curated menu featuring traditional Chinese dishes like Braised Chicken with Abalone and Peach Blossom Pastry, alongside western options such as Stir-fried Beef Tenderloin. At cruising altitude, the cabin crew also engaged passengers in interactive activities, including sign language dance and quiz contests, celebrating the launch of the new route together.
